“It’s a little too Blade Runner and I need it to be slightly more Dune.”

We love a client with a vision, and the owner of this bachelor pad definitely had one. The project was guided by his love of sci-fi films and the worlds they create. Our goal here was to turn a postmodern apartment with very few right angles into a unique space for our unique client.

This home is filled with unique pieces and finishing techniques, including plaster walls created by a Vatican artist, as well as a custom milk-clay light fixture fired in Kyiv during the Russo-Ukranian War. Custom walnut furniture and millwork were designed for the office, bedrooms, living area, and kitchen to aesthetically maximize storage in the spatially apartment.

The client’s love of sci-fi provided the guiding design principles for this project, with rugs inspired by Denis Villenueve’s Dune, fixtures inspired by Alien, and Blade Runner-esque art and artifacts (including the film’s original promotional art).
