An iconic neighborhood wine bar is given a new life.

We were tapped to help resurrect this Cleveland wine bar that had been a staple in the community for over 20 years, closing in 2018 and re-opening five years later in a totally new location. It fell to us to build on nostalgia that many felt for the original space, while bringing a fresh new perspective to the concept of the wine cave.

Inspired by the image of a wine cellar tucked beneath a ruined French chateaux, we sourced furnishing, fixtures, art, textiles, and accessories from all over the world to create the second iteration of this wine bar. Amish craftsmen built masonry arches and a backbar inspired by the historic building’s Tudor-inspired architecture, we worked with local carpenters to create cozy wooden booths and custom furniture, and we were even lucky enough to find the bar’s original neon sign in someone’s living room.
